Is the brain melting the sugar? Or the sugar melting the brain? Sugar, as an ingredient that can have two contradictory sides of effect on human body. In one hand, sugar supports the functions of brains by providing energy through metabolism. On the other hand, excessive sugar intake may affect the memory function of human brain and have negative impacts on human’s attention. This project reveals the philosophical attribute of the unity of opposites in matter through a performance where melted sugar is poured onto a 3D-printed brain.

是大脑在 “融化” 糖分？还是糖分在 “融化” 大脑？糖作为一种成分，对人体的影响具有两面性。一方面，糖通过新陈代谢为大脑提供能量，支撑其各项功能；另一方面， 过量摄入糖分可能影响大脑的记忆功能，对人的注意力也会有负面影响 。本项目通过将融化的糖倒在 3D 打印的大脑模型上这一行为，揭示了物质所具有的对立统一这一哲学属性。
